Build the engine. Win the business. Own the outcome.
We've built a profitable, AI-native consultancy on reputation and referrals. Now we want someone to build the machine that wins new business on purpose - and we'll give them the authority, the budget and the equity to do it.
About us
Vertex Agility is an established, AI-native technology consultancy. Since 2013 we've delivered for demanding enterprise clients across financial services and global consulting, and we're now backed for our next phase of growth. Almost all of that growth has come through founder relationships - which is exactly the opportunity here: a commercial function to build from the ground up.
The role
As our first Chief Commercial Officer, you'll build and own Vertex Agility's new-business engine end to end - and you'll be measured, first and above all, on the new business it wins. This is a builder's job, not a bag-carrier's. You'll design the ICP, the motion, the pipeline and the team, turn the senior consultative selling that already works into something repeatable and scalable, and win new logos at scale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who you are
- You've built a commercial or BD engine before - and you can point to the new business it won. A builder who produced revenue, not process for its own sake.
- Enterprise, services-led background: you know long, multi-stakeholder, six- and seven-figure deals sold on value, not rate card.
- You thrive in a lean, direct, founder-led business that's growing fast.
- You can qualify and price AI-led propositions, not just talk about them.
The deal
Chief Commercial Officer (Chief Revenue Officer by preference) | Reports to the CEO | London / UK, hybrid, with travel.
- Competitive base, a performance bonus tied to new business, potential for an equity / LTIP element.
