Lead and Shape Derbyshire Constabulary’s Taser Training
Provide strategic direction to ensure the highest standards of compliance, safety, and professionalism.

Join the Team
Play a key leadership role as Chief Taser Instructor to provide strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure our training remains compliant with College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP), is effective, and fit for the challenges of modern policing.
You will provide expert professional advice in relation to capability development, training standards, operational deployment, risk management, and future developments in less lethal weapons.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide strategic leadership, training strategy, and operational management for taser capability.
- Lead, supervise, and develop taser instructors, support staff, and manage performance and professional development.
- Design and approve the annual taser training plan and instructor training programmes.

The Must Haves
- Must be a qualified and competent taser lead instructor or achieve the qualification within agreed timescales.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in delivering and managing police training and instructors.
