Role Specification: Chief Technical Advisor – IC Architecture & ROIC Systems

Company: Qailash Labs

Location: Vijayawada / Hyderabad / Delhi / Remote (Flexible)

Engagement Model: Retainer Advisory Basis (Part-Time: 4 to 8 hours/week)

Compensation: Monthly Advisory Retainer + Founder's Advisory Equity (ESOPs)

About Qailash Labs

Qailash Labs Private Limited is an Indian deep-tech semiconductor company indigenizing high-performance Readout Integrated Circuits (ROICs) and Integrated Detector Assemblies for defence electro-optics, anti-drone interceptors, and quantum sensor readouts.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design Review: Review and validate system-level specifications for Analog Mixed-Signal ROIC (unit pixel CTIA integrators, 14-bit Column SAR ADCs, and 77K cryogenic operating conditions).
  • ASIC Partner Supervision: Provide high-level technical oversight during design reviews with our ASIC physical execution partner and foundry sign-off checks.
  • Defence & Ecosystem Alignment: Represent Qailash Labs in strategic technical discussions with Tier-1 defence primes, DRDO laboratories (SSPL / IRDE), and Ministry of Defence grant evaluations (ADITI / iDEX).
  • Pipeline Roadmap Guidance: Advise on the multi-year technology roadmap covering next-gen ROICs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a recognized leader fitting any one of the following backgrounds:

  • Option A (Ex-Defence / R&D Leader): Retired Senior Scientist / Director / Scientist 'G' or 'H' from DRDO (SSPL, IRDE, SITAR, ANURAG) or ISRO with direct hands-on experience in ROIC Silicon IC Design, Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) Microelectronics, or Sensor Readout ASIC Architecture.
  • Option B (Distinguished Academic): Senior Professor / Emeritus Faculty in Microelectronics & IC Design from IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IISc (CeNSE), or similar premiere institutions.
  • Option C (Industry Fellow): Retired / Veteran Chief IC Architect or Technical Fellow from leading semiconductor MNCs (Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, STMicroelectronics, NXP, Infineon, Cypress).

Key Technical Competencies

  • Deep expertise in Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) IC Design and custom ASIC tape-outs.
  • Familiarity with IR Sensor Readout Circuits (ROICs), pixel topologies (CTIA, Direct Injection), or sensor front-end interfaces.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic electronics (77K operation) and foundry PDK flows is highly desirable.
