Role Description
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Southampton, responsible for leading the end-to-end technology vision, strategy, and execution at Vina.Health. The CTO will oversee software development, product architecture, and platform reliability, ensuring secure handling of sensitive health-related data and adherence to privacy and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day duties include:

- Managing engineering teams
- Coordinating cross-functional projects with product and clinical stakeholders
- Prioritizing feature development
- Maintaining high standards for code quality, cybersecurity, and system performance
The role also involves:
- Defining long-term IT and data strategies
- Selecting appropriate tools and infrastructure
- Engaging with partners and vendors
- Reporting technology progress and risks to the executive team and board
The CTO will play a key role in scaling the platform, supporting pilots and rollouts for employer clients, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Software Development and Product Development, with experience building and scaling secure digital health or SaaS platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing robust, privacy-by-design systems and selecting appropriate cloud and data technologies.
- Proven Project Management skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams, delivering complex initiatives on time, and managing technical roadmaps.
- Experience overseeing information security, data protection, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, healthcare data governance).
- Background in leading and mentoring engineering teams, with inclusive leadership practices and the ability to attract and retain technical talent.
- Comfort working closely with clinical, product, and commercial stakeholders, translating user needs into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
