About The Opportunity
Welocity is supporting an established UK professional services business in the appointment of a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to lead the next phase of its technology transformation.
The organisation operates in a knowledge- and document-intensive professional services environment, where technology has significant potential to improve how teams work, serve clients and access information. The business is now looking to accelerate its use of AI, automation and modern digital technologies across the organisation. This is not a traditional IT leadership position. The incoming CTO will be expected to identify high-value opportunities, build and implement practical solutions, and establish a technology roadmap that delivers measurable business outcomes.
The Role
This opportunity would suit an experienced technology leader who combines hands-on technical capability with strategic leadership. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will identify where technology can deliver meaningful improvements and take solutions from concept and prototype through to production and adoption. You will lead initiatives spanning AI copilots, document intelligence, knowledge systems, workflow automation, cloud platforms, APIs and data infrastructure, while ensuring technology investment remains closely aligned with the organisation's commercial and operational priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
