Nexa is partnering with an established, internationally operating technology business to appoint a Chief Technology Officer.
The company has an existing SaaS and data platform, an experienced product and engineering team, and ambitious plans to build its next generation of AI-enabled products.
This is an opportunity to take full ownership of Product and Technology, working directly with the Founder and CEO to define the company’s technical direction, evolve its platform and build an AI-first organisation capable of scaling internationally.
This is not a role for someone seeking their first step into technology leadership. We are looking for an experienced CTO or equivalent executive who has already built and led technology functions, owned product and engineering strategy, and operated confidently with founders, investors and Boards.
What you’ll own
Technology and company strategy
- Partner directly with the Founder, CEO and Board on long-term company strategy.
- Define the technology vision, architecture and investment priorities.
- Translate commercial objectives into product and platform capabilities.
- Represent the technology function in Board discussions, investor conversations and strategic partnerships.
- Take ownership of technology decisions that directly influence company growth and enterprise value.
Product leadership
- Own the product vision, roadmap and delivery strategy.
- Turn customer insight into commercially valuable products.
- Establish clear product priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Build an effective operating model across Product, Engineering and Commercial.
- Balance rapid innovation with technical sustainability and customer needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

AI and data platform
- Lead the evolution of an established data platform into an AI-native product ecosystem.
- This includes:
- AI-enabled products and intelligent recommendation systems.
- Modern data architecture and semantic modelling.
- Natural language interfaces and agentic workflows.
- Enterprise APIs and third-party integrations.
- Data quality, security and governance.
- Scalable cloud infrastructure and reliable production AI systems.
The objective is to make AI fundamental to the platform and the way the organisation builds software, rather than treating it as an additional feature.
Engineering and organisational leadership
- Lead and develop an existing multidisciplinary product and engineering team.
- Build a high-performing, AI-enabled engineering organisation.
- Own software architecture, security, scalability and operational excellence.
- Establish modern practices across DevOps, testing, observability and platform engineering.
- Recruit, coach and develop future technical leaders.
- Increase delivery capability through intelligent use of AI and automation.
The technology environment
The existing platform operates primarily within the Microsoft ecosystem, including:
-.NET-based backend services
- Angular frontend
- Microsoft Azure
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- Infrastructure as code
- Event-driven and microservices architecture
The next phase will involve evolving this architecture and incorporating AI services more deeply across the platform.
You do not need to be the strongest hands-on developer in the room, but you must have the technical depth to challenge architectural decisions, guide senior engineers and make informed platform-level trade-offs.

About you
We are particularly interested in individuals who bring:
- Previous experience as a CTO, CPTO, VP Engineering or equivalent senior technology executive with broad organisational ownership.
- Proven experience building and scaling SaaS, enterprise software or data platforms.
- Leadership experience spanning both Product and Engineering.
- A track record of delivering AI-enabled products into production.
- Strong knowledge of modern cloud and data architecture.
- Experience building and developing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Commercial judgement and the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes.
- Confidence working directly with founders, investors and Boards.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining close enough to delivery to make a practical difference.
Experience with AI-native development, LLMs, retrieval architectures, semantic data models, agentic systems and Microsoft Azure would be particularly relevant.
We are looking for a builder and executive leader, not someone whose experience is limited to managing software delivery or leading an individual engineering team.
Why consider this opportunity?
This role offers the chance to shape the next phase of an established technology business rather than maintain a mature organisation with limited room for change.
You will have genuine ownership over the product and technology strategy, direct access to the Founder and CEO, meaningful equity participation and the opportunity to build an AI-first technology function.
The business operates internationally, and occasional overseas travel may be required.
