Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - London
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £150,000 - £180,000 + Bonus / Equity
About Our Client
Our client is a high-growth technology scale-up entering its next stage of expansion. Following significant investment and continued customer growth, they are looking to appoint a commercially minded CTO to lead technology strategy, engineering, and product delivery.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the wider leadership team, you will take ownership of the technology function and long-term technical roadmap. You will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team, ensure the platform can scale with the business, and play a key role in future product and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the company's technology strategy and technical roadmap.
- Lead, develop, and scale high-performing engineering and technology teams.
- Work closely with the CEO, founders, Product, and commercial leadership.
- Oversee architecture, infrastructure, cyber security, data, and engineering standards.
- Drive improvements across software delivery, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Build appropriate engineering structures, processes, and leadership capability as the company grows.
- Support technology due diligence, investor conversations, and strategic planning.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and cloud services.
- Own technology budgets, suppliers, and key third-party relationships.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Technology Director, or senior engineering leader.
- Strong background in software engineering and modern cloud architecture.
- Experience scaling engineering teams within a startup, scale-up, or fast-growth technology environment.
- Excellent commercial awareness and ability to communicate technology strategy at board level.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, cyber security, data, and software delivery.
- Experience building engineering culture, hiring senior technical talent, and developing leaders.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.

Package
- Salary: £150,000 - £180,000 + Bonus / Equity
- Location: London - hybrid working
