Chief Technology Officer – Tonbridge – £110,000 + bonus
Peaple Talent has partnered with a well-established and growing organisation to appoint a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) as they enter an exciting phase of business development and technological evolution.
With a strong reputation within its sector, the organisation is preparing to embark on a significant period of digital transformation, with a key focus on modernising legacy systems, enhancing existing technology capabilities and building a platform for future growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technology leader to take ownership of a pivotal transformation agenda, shaping the organisation’s technology strategy and driving meaningful change across both systems and people.
The Role
The CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s technology vision, providing both strategic direction and operational leadership across the Technology function. As a key member of the SLT, you will ensure that technology is central to the organisation’s future plans, driving innovation, supporting business objectives and creating the foundations for sustainable, long-term growth.

A core focus of the role will be to lead a significant programme of digital transformation, overseeing the modernisation of legacy systems, improving existing technology infrastructure and introducing forward-thinking solutions. The CTO will also explore and drive the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, streamline processes and deliver greater business value.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, the CTO will champion a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation. You will be responsible for ensuring technology and data are used effectively to inform decision-making, improve operational performance and enhance the experience of customers and members, while ensuring the organisation’s technology capabilities are scalable, secure and fit for the future.
You’ll be:
- Defining and delivering a technology strategy aligned with achieving key business goals
- Leading on a digital transformation programme centred around AI adoption and modernisation of new systems
- Overseeing a team circa 30 across Cyber, Data, Infrastructure, Software and more
- Acting as a champion for IT, engaging regularly with senior stakeholders and leading the wider IT team through a change programme
- Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

About you
- A proven Digital or IT leader with success in delivering technology strategies and/or change/transformation initiatives
- Able to engage and influence at Exec and Board level
- Comfortable developing and managing an IT budget
- Broad technical background with an eye for emerging technologies like AI and automation
- Ability to inspire, mentor and motivate high-performing teams
- Proactive people-leader who is results-orientated and motivated by continuous improvement

- Salary up to £110,000
- Hybrid working arrangement with occasional travel to UK sites
