Company Description
The German Business Hub is a London-based business incubator dedicated to supporting German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) entering the UK market. Working with 15 incubator partners, the Hub offers tailored guidance across multiple business disciplines to help organizations establish and grow their presence in the UK. Applicants will join a setting that provides a prestigious office address, modern conference facilities, and flexible coworking spaces in central London. The Hub’s collaborative environment connects SMEs with expert resources and networks, creating strong foundations for sustainable international expansion.
Role Description
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for defining and executing the technology vision of the German Business Hub. The CTO will oversee software and product development initiatives that support incubator operations and client SMEs, ensuring technology solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading cross-functional technology teams, managing IT projects and budgets, and maintaining the Hub’s digital infrastructure and architecture. The role also involves developing and refining IT strategy, evaluating new technologies and vendors, setting technical standards and governance, and collaborating closely with senior leadership and incubator partners to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

- Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience delivering robust, user-centric digital solutions.
- Proven expertise in IT Strategy and Technology Architecture, including designing scalable systems that support business growth.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, with a track record of leading complex technology initiatives from concept to implementation.
- Experience managing IT operations in a startup, incubator, or SME-focused environment, ideally with international or cross-border business exposure.
- Ability to build, mentor, and lead diverse technical teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, cloud infrastructure, and data governance in a modern digital workplace.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
