Chief Technology Officer

London | GB News

In just five years, GB News has established itself as the UK’s highest-rated TV news channel by average viewership, outperforming both BBC News Channel and Sky News since July 2025. At the same time, we have built significant momentum across digital, radio and social platforms.

Now we are looking for a Chief Technology Officer to help build what comes next.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the technology behind one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most disruptive media businesses. You will join the executive leadership team and take strategic responsibility for the technology that powers GB News across broadcast, digital, apps, connected TV and an increasingly sophisticated in-house product ecosystem.

The opportunity

GB News was built differently from the start. Rather than relying on traditional broadcast infrastructure, we created a modern, IP-based and cloud-oriented technology environment. We have a technically strong team of around 40 people across engineering, digital and broadcast operations – and an ambition to build one of the most advanced and scalable media technology platforms in the market.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Experience from broadcast, media or large-scale digital platforms would be highly relevant, but it isn't essential.
  • More important is your ability to combine strong technology judgement with product thinking, commercial understanding and a genuine curiosity about AI and emerging technology.
  • You are comfortable setting long-term direction – but you're also a player-coach. GB News is entrepreneurial, fast-moving and relatively lean.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to put your stamp on a growing 200+ person organisation, lead a highly capable technology team and help build a media technology platform capable of competing with organisations many times its size.
