Lynwood Community Adult School, in partnership with Compton College, is excited to offer the child development program.
The Child Development Program
The Child Development Program Prepares Students For Careers In Private Or Public Programs Serving Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, Children With Special Needs, Or Children In Before And After School Care. Upon Successful Completion Of The Certificate And/or Degree Program, Students Will Be Able To
- Integrate an understanding of the needs, characteristics and multiple influences on the development of children ranging from birth to adolescence as related to high quality care and education.
- Design, implement and evaluate environments and activities that support positive developmental play and learning outcomes for all children.
- Apply effective observation, assessment, guidance and interaction strategies that support all children’s social and emotional development.

16 Weeks
Class Schedule
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30 PM - 8:40 PM
Cost
$138 per class + $26 student fees per semester
($46 per unit: each class is 3 units)
Students may apply for Financial Aid to cover fees.
Registration and Orientation
Students must complete an orientation appointment with Ms. Castelo to register for the program.
