About the Role
Our client in Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join its Children’s Services team.
The successful candidate will work with children, young people and families where there are safeguarding concerns, providing high-quality statutory social work intervention to ensure children are protected from harm and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage a caseload of complex child protection and safeguarding cases.
- Undertake statutory assessments and investigations in line with legislation and local authority procedures.
- Identify, assess and manage risks to children and young people.
- Undertake child protection enquiries and contribute to strategy discussions.
- Complete statutory visits and ensure children are seen regularly and their wishes and feelings are fully considered.
- Develop, implement and review child protection and care plans.
- Work directly with children, young people, parents, carers and wider family networks.
- Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, reviews, professional meetings and court proceedings.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records.
- Work effectively with police, health professionals, schools, education services and other partner agencies.
- Participate in multi-agency safeguarding meetings and professional networks.
- Provide evidence and professional recommendations where cases progress to court.
- Analyse complex information and make evidence-based decisions regarding children's safety and welfare.
- Identify and respond appropriately to escalating safeguarding concerns.
- Promote strengths-based and relationship-focused practice with children and families.
- Ensure that the child's voice remains central to assessment, planning and decision-making.
- Manage competing priorities and statutory timescales effectively.
- Work in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, council policies and Social Work England standards.

Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
