Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
Spalding, Lincolnshire | Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £60,000 + bonus | £5,000 total welcome bonus
Build Something Exceptional. Change a Young Person's Future.
What if your next leadership role gave you the opportunity to do more than manage a home?
What if you could build its culture from day one, develop an exceptional team, set the standard for outstanding care and make a genuine, lasting difference to a young person's life?
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to take the lead at a brand-new, high-specification children's residential home in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
This is a rare opportunity to start with a blank canvas and create a home where a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs feels safe, understood, valued and able to thrive.
If you're an ambitious children's residential leader who wants the autonomy to build something exceptional — while being supported by an organisation that genuinely invests in its people — this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Your Opportunity to Make Your Mark
As Registered Manager, you'll take full operational responsibility for the home and play a pivotal role in establishing its culture, standards and reputation.
You'll lead from the front, building a strong and dedicated team, embedding therapeutic and child-centred practice, and creating an environment where safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes are at the heart of everything you do.
You'll have the opportunity to shape the service from the ground up — not simply inherit an existing way of working.
Your leadership will help determine what this home becomes.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, including:
- Leading and managing the residential service to the highest standards of care
- Recruiting, developing, supervising and inspiring a skilled and motivated team
- Creating a warm, stable, safe and nurturing environment tailored around the individual needs of the young person
- Embedding trauma-informed and child-centred practice across the home
- Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), PACE and therapeutic approaches where appropriate
- Overseeing care planning, risk management, safeguarding and regulatory compliance
- Ensuring the home consistently meets — and strives to exceed — Ofsted standards and Children's Homes Regulations
- Building strong, professional relationships with local authorities, education providers, health professionals and families
- Responding confidently and compassionately to complex behaviours and challenging situations
- Driving continuous improvement, quality assurance and consistently positive outcomes
- Supporting the young person with routines, appointments, education and meaningful activities when required
- Maintaining exceptional governance, records and documentation
- Taking a proactive approach to inspection readiness and regulatory standards

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
