Childcare Apprentice

About the Role

To help us with the growth of the children in the nursery, we are looking for an enthusiastic Level 3 Childcare Apprentice to join our busy team at the Denaby site. The applicant must be passionate about working in childcare and expanding their expertise in this area while earning a recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team and be able to care for and supervise the children with regard to their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
• Work with your room leader and colleagues to plan and prepare activities, meet children’s individual needs, liaise with parents, and negotiate working targets, ensuring effective communication within the nursery.
• Offer all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, and cultural or linguistic background, in particular, challenges situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
• Keep development records and observations of the children and offer positive management of children's behaviour.
• Keep accident, incident, and risk assessment records.
• Preparation, care, cleanliness, and maintenance of the nursery and equipment is a vital part of the role, as is providing a good role model for students and helping new staff to fit into the nursery.
• Undertake supervision of meals and mealtimes and, where appropriate, preparation of babies’ bottles, laundry duties, participating in regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends, and children's outings.
• Attend staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and Director.
