Rosemount Nursery School - Muswell Hill are looking for a Nursery Assistant Apprentice, you will be studying toward your Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Level 3.

What you'll do at work

Rosemount is a privately owned Pre School day nursery in Muswell Hill, offering the best possible start in life, where children flourish. We have a happy homely environment and have high expectations for all our children. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which covers the following areas: personal social and emotional development, physical development, communication and language, mathematics, literacy, expressive arts and design and understanding of the world. Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:

• Supporting qualified staff with daily routines in the nursery.
• Learning the skills of a early years practitioner, working practically as part of a team.
• Learn how to provide high quality childcare to our children.
• Show commitment to achieving the Apprenticeship in the agreed timeframe.
• Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children.
• To ensure you attend all the training courses and staff meeting as required.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility in getting things done.

What you'll learn

Course contents

• Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
• Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
• Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
• Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
• Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
