Burton Bradstock Primary School is seeking to recruit a Childcare Assistant (Extended Day) 4 hours per week.
Role Details
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: Grade 3 (SCP 3-4), Actual Annual Salary £2,321-£2,357
- Working Hours: Term time only, Tuesday & Thursday, 3:20 pm - 5:20 pm (may be subject to change according to business need) 38 working weeks per year.
Main Purpose & Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care for children
- Take the register of children attending after school club
- Administer First Aid as appropriate
- Promote and reinforce children’s self-esteem
- Assist in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in accordance with the Trust’s safeguarding and child protection policy
- Assist in organising resources for each session
- Assist in ensuring the club is a safe environment for children; that equipment is safe and health and hygiene requirements are met
- If food or snacks are being served as part of the club, to assist in:
- Providing children with a balanced diet; planning menus and timely placing of food orders
- Ensuring that health and hygiene requirements are met, including carry out washing-up, cleaning of catering equipment and kitchen area
- Assist in carrying out day to day administration, record keeping and communication
- Attend staff meetings and training opportunities where appropriate
- Assist in ensuring all legal and statutory requirements are implemented; assist in providing reports as required
