Job Opportunity at Nursery

Are you a dynamic individual with a passion for learning about early years? This nursery is looking for someone to join their friendly team. Your role will be supporting children aged 6 months to 5 years. You will also be a key person to a small group of children, making learning fun and liaising closely with parents/carers.

Role Overview

  • Key Person Role: Act as a key person to a group of children, building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognized and met.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
  • Advising: Advise the manager of any concerns regarding the health and well-being of children, parents, or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • Teaching: Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
  • Safety: Ensure that children are kept safe and understand when to follow child protection procedures.
  • Participation: Actively participate in team meetings, supervision meetings, and appraisal meetings.
  • Training: Attend training courses as required and take responsibility for personal development.

Early years educator (level 3)

Course Contents

  • Safeguarding: Recognize when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Health and Safety: Apply legislation, policy, and procedure to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of children in the setting (e.g., food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
  • Risk Management: Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
  • Communication: Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Professional Relationships: Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child.
  • Child Development: Advocate for all children’s needs, including children which require SEND or EAL support, and support children in developing their identity, understanding their emotions, and making considered choices about their behaviors.
  • Environment: Create inclusive, child-centred, dynamic, innovative, and evolving physical environments both indoors and outdoors.
  • Reflection: Use reflection to develop themselves both professionally and personally.

Nursery Features

The nursery boasts a fantastic outside play area, a sensory room, a "under the sea" baby room, a jungle-themed toddler room, and the over 2's rainbow room with four-themed rooms to give children an opportunity to explore the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage identified by Ofsted, with an additional Jewish curriculum. Many of the children leave the nursery and join the Early Years nursery class at Wolfson Hillel School seamlessly with their friends.
