About Us
The Vale of Glamorgan is welcoming applications within its Flying Start Programme. Flying Start is a Welsh Government funded programme and is available in targeted areas supporting all families to give 0-3-year olds a Flying Start in life. The programme aims to provide intensive support services for children and their families.
The focus of the programme is on promoting language, cognitive, social and emotional skills, physical development and the early identification of high needs. This is achieved through the delivery of health support and guidance, parenting groups and support and free part time childcare.

About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 5, SCP 8 - 12. £26,824-£28,598 p.a.
Hours of Work: 37 Hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday
Main Place of Work: Barry
Temporary up to 31.03.2028
Description:
To match the needs of individual children aged 2 – 3 years and their family to quality child care settings within the Vale of Glamorgan. To monitor attendance across childcare and support transition from home to setting and on to Nursery.
About You
You will need:
- 2 years’ experience of working within a childcare environment
- Experience of liaising with other professionals around the needs of young children
- Experience of working with families, children/young people.
- A good general education
- CCLD level 3 or equivalent recognised qualification in childcare/Early Years
- A full, valid driving licence and use of a car
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively in verbal and written form.
- Good I.T skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and have a flexible approach to work.
