A welcoming nursery in Killearn is recruiting for a full time Modern Apprentice to work in their Montessori setting. The Montessori approach prioritises child development through hands-on experiences. With their extensive indoor and outdoor facilities children are able to explore and learn at their own pace.
You will undertake an apprenticeship in childcare where you will work and train in the nursery setting to become a qualified childcare practitioner.
This is a full-time position and you will earn an apprenticeship salary of £8 per hour.
The qualification will be delivered by Essor Training Centre (Qualifications Scotland accredited). Alongside this role you will be supported and guided through your qualification by an Essor Training assessor whilst also receiving on-the-job support and mentoring in the nursery.

This Will Include
- Regular meetings with your allocated SVQ assessor
- Continuous support via phone, email and online
- Monthly training sessions
- Access to an online training platform
- Assistance in completing written work to support your accreditation and competencies in each area of your qualification
Successful candidates will be required to offer 2 satisfactory references and undergo PVG and SSSC registration.
On completion you will gain the SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7 and Workplace Core Skills and be a fully qualified Early Learning and Childcare Practitioner.
What will I learn?

- how to deliver effective care and learning in a nursery setting with children aged 5 and under
- to work as part of a team
- to develop care skills to support each individual child's care and learning needs
- to design and deliver learning experiences to develop each child
- to support the daily routine and workings of a nursery
- to develop knowledge of child development and related theories
- to develop your knowledge of curriculum, frameworks, policies and legislation in relation to early learning and childcare

What qualifications or qualities are required?
It is not necessary for you to have any previous professional childcare experience, however you must be able to show a clear passion for working with children and promoting their development.
Good communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team are essential requirements. You must be reliable, enthusiastic and absolutely committed to developing the skills and knowledge required to provide high quality childcare to all children.
