We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the South-West, who are recruiting for a Childcare Solicitor to join their team on a 3 month locum basis, with high likelihood of extension past this.
This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of £50 - £60/hour (Umbrella) and the start date is subject to notice. They are able to consider candidates on a remote basis.
Duties:
- Managing a caseload of Childcare legal matters, including care proceedings, PLOs and DOLs
- Providing a comprehensive legal service on all aspects of child protection work to the Children, Young People and Families Directorate and to the Council
- Briefing Counsel on behalf of the Council in the Family Court, and obtaining Counsel’s opinion on any relevant matters relating to children’s proceedings
- Advising on, negotiating and drafting legal documents to give effect to decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council

Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Recent experience working within Childcare law for a Local Authority
Working Hours:
- 37 hours per week
- Flexible working hours
