Childcare Solicitor NQ+

GBP 40,000 to GBP 70,000+ (DOE) plus extensive benefits, permanent full-time role.

Role Overview

You will succeed in this role if you combine legal expertise with empathy, resilience, and a client-first mindset. With strong communication and advocacy skills, you will be confident in managing a caseload independently, show excellent organization and attention to detail, and demonstrate a proactive approach to personal development and compliance.

You will manage your own caseload of care proceedings, working closely with clients, colleagues, and external agencies to deliver excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the wider team by mentoring junior staff and contributing to the department's continued growth.
  • Run care-related cases allocated by the Head of Department/Partners.
  • Ensure client work is progressed efficiently with clear communication on costs and progress.
  • Advocate for clients in court and at key meetings.
  • Supervise and develop junior colleagues as agreed with the Head of Department.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with social services, guardians, and other organizations.
  • Handle time recording, billing, and credit control for your matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all SRA rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives.
