As a Lead for the Children and Young Person’s service you will:
- Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
- Be a trusted guide and support to them as well as to their parents or guardians.
- Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team.
- Work with a wide variety of cases which will broaden your skills. You will also work within different specialist areas.
- Be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the CYP service.
- Work collaboratively with consultants and a range of stakeholders to drive and develop the CYP service.
- Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses to deliver a bespoke service for our patients.
- Participate in the on-call rota.
- Promote innovation within the service to be responsive to service user needs.

To succeed as a Children and Young Person’s Manager you will:
- Be NMC qualified and have extensive post registration experience in a children’s ward setting.
- Have various levels of post-registration experience – and ideally EPALS, ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
- Experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage.
- Experience of clinical leadership.
- Can work well individually and as part of a team.
- Can engage and build relationships with external stakeholders.
