Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care

Location: Birmingham – Yardley Wood, Kings Heath, Moseley & Oldbury

Salary: £32,120 per annum + £70 per sleep-in

Hours: 160 hours per month

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join an established provider of children’s residential care services across Birmingham.

You will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while promoting positive outcomes and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and young people with EBD and challenging behaviours
  • Safeguarding and promoting young people’s welfare
  • Supporting care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour strategies
  • Acting as a positive role model
  • Completing daily records and reports
  • Supporting activities, appointments, and independence skills
  • Working closely with colleagues and external professionals

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care, Residential Childcare, Children & Young People or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience within a children’s residential home
  • Good safeguarding and child protection knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Able to work weekends, sleep-ins, and flexible shifts
  • Willing to work across Birmingham homes when required
