Location: Bangor Aurora Leisure Complex, County Down, BT20 4BN
Hourly Rate: £18.28 per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Casual hours, 2-4 hours per week across 7 days between 9am and 9pm

Delivering these services relies on an enthusiastic, customer-focused team, and they're now looking for a Children's Basketball Coach to join their team and help make a positive difference every day.
As a Children's Basketball Coach, you'll help young people develop their basketball skills, confidence, and teamwork in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. Through engaging coaching sessions and positive role modelling, you'll support children to enjoy being active, achieve their potential, and build a lifelong connection with sport. Our work touches lives, and your work has purpose by creating a positive impact on communities and helping to impact a better future for the next generation.
What You'll Do as a Children's Basketball Coach
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate basketball coaching sessions for children and young people
- Plan and deliver progressive coaching programmes that develop fundamental movement skills and basketball techniques
- Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participation, growth, and personal development
- Promote teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and positive behaviours during all sessions
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants through effective supervision and adherence to safeguarding and health and safety procedures
- Support festivals, tournaments, camps, and community basketball events while helping to increase junior participation

Does This Sound Like You?
- Experience coaching or leading physical activity sessions for children and young people
- Basketball coaching qualification from a recognised governing body (or working towards)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage participants of different ages and abilities
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and player development principles
- Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety practices within a sports environment
- A passion for developing young people through sport and creating a positive, inclusive experience for all

Vetting and Checks
An Enhanced Access NI check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
