Job Summary

Are you a dynamic, enthusiastic, and confident paediatric dietitian with an interest in diabetes care?

We are looking for a Children's Diabetes Dietitian to join our Children and Young People's Diabetes Service at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to cover 12 months maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a friendly, supportive, and highly motivated multidisciplinary team, providing specialist dietetic assessment, treatment, education, and support for children and young people with diabetes, their families, and carers. The role will include inpatient care, multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, dietetic-led clinics, community working, and close collaboration with nursing, medical, psychology, and wider allied health professional colleagues.

  • To provide specialist dietetic education and support for children and young people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes from diagnosis through to transition to adult services.
  • Support children, young people, families, carers, and school staff to develop confidence in diabetes self-management.
  • Provide education and advice on diabetes technology, including insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, and hybrid closed loop systems where appropriate.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, research, quality improvement, and national programmes including the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to meet Paediatric Diabetes Best Practice Tariff criteria and deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
