Description

Part Time / 25 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Sponsorship is not available. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Children and Young People are at the heart of the work that we do. We have children’s residential homes across the city which offer guidance and support to young people who are in the care of the Local Authority.

Working in a team of 15 to 25 staff, we are a growing service and are expanding from 8 to 10 homes over the next several years.

This is a part time, permanent role working 25 hours per week Monday to Friday. You’ll be primarily undertaking office-based work and hours within one of our children’s homes with some unsocial hours, in line with the needs of the service. However, on occasion you’ll be expected to undertake errands in the community e.g. shopping and attending meetings and/or cover work in other locations when needed.

Your Main Duties Will Include

  • Support all aspects of running the home and assist young people - who are residents – in practical aspects of travel and living arrangements, as well as developing their independence.
  • Your day will vary from helping with administrative activity of the home such as record keeping, IT systems and processes and processing financial documentation, to front of house activities, including, receiving visitors, dealing with phone enquiries etc.
  • Whilst this is primarily a business support post you will use your personal and professional skills to make a huge difference to the young people who live in the children’s homes.
  • Helping them to overcome any difficulties or disadvantages they may face – allowing them to strengthen their future. You’ll form bonds with a variety of young people, some of whom may require higher levels of support from you e.g. with their budgeting and IT skills.
  • Support young people to have their voice heard in all aspects of their lives by actively encouraging them to connect with the communities around them, whilst helping them to keep their independence. Working jointly with other individuals, agencies, and community resources, you’ll provide a holistic approach to young people and their families.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
