Job Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified Occupational Therapist looking to start their career in paediatrics, or an existing Band 5 OT with a passion for working with children and young people and developing specialist skills within a supportive team.
Based in the well-equipped Children's Centre at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, you will join a small, experienced and welcoming multidisciplinary team of Specialist Children's Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Assistant Practitioners. Together, we deliver high-quality, child-centred care that makes a real difference to children, young people and their families.
You'll benefit from a varied and rewarding caseload, supporting children and young people with a range of short and long-term conditions across clinic, community and educational settings. We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and proactive approach, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people.
As this role involves travelling to education settings across Bath and North East Somerset, access to independent transport is essential.

Main duties of the job
This varied role offers the opportunity to work across both outpatient clinics at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and community settings, supporting children and families to achieve their goals and maximise independence in everyday activities.
You will independently manage a diverse caseload, carrying out assessments, developing and delivering intervention plans, and evaluating outcomes, while working closely with colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Although much of the role involves autonomous practice, you will have access to regular supervision, clinical support, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications And Training
Essential criteria
- Diploma/ degree in OT
- State registration with HPC (or soon to be on qualification)
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and experience of working with children
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches used in Occupational Therapy
Desirable criteria
- Strong evidence of desire to specialise in working with children and young people
- Independent means of transport
Specific skills
Essential criteria
- Access to efficient independent transport
- Working knowledge of IT
