Role Overview
This role supports the Bid Manager in the coordination, preparation, and submission of high-quality tender responses for the design, manufacture, and installation of children’s play areas. We work with Councils across the UK and a wide variety of leisure attractions such as Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park, to bring their play concepts to life! The successful candidate will play a key role in developing bid content and producing compelling responses to tender questions. You will be instrumental in ensuring submissions are compliant and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Writing & Content Development
- Draft, edit, and tailor high-quality responses to tender questions (PQQs, ITTs, RFQs, etc.)
- Translate technical and commercial input into clear, persuasive written responses
- Ensure responses align with company messaging, strengths, and win themes
- Review and proofread submissions for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
Tender Coordination Support
- Assist in the bid process from opportunity identification through to submission
- Support the Bid Manager in coordinating internal stakeholders and gathering required information
- Monitor and distribute tender-specific clarifications
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of all submission elements
- Maintain bid libraries, case studies, and response templates

Design & Document Production
- Prepare professional submission documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and InDesign
- Ensure documents are visually engaging and aligned with brand guidelines
- Format tender responses, appendices, and supporting documents to a high standard
- Manage document version control and final submission packs
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all submissions meet tender requirements and compliance criteria
- Check documentation against tender specifications before submission
- Support bid reviews and lessons learned processes
General Bid Support
- Conduct research to support bid responses (market, client, project references)
- Assist in developing case studies and supporting materials
- Support continuous improvement of bid processes and tools
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and creative content
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent IT literacy and competency with Microsoft Office

- Experience in bid writing, tender support, or a similar role
- Experience using Adobe InDesign
- Experience within construction, playgrounds, the public sector, or similar industries
- Familiarity with public sector procurement processes

Job Details
- Full time position 8.30am to 5pm.
- IMPORTANT The role is office-based at our Head Office in Hurtmore, Surrey.
- Opportunities for flexible working following a successful probation period.
