Job Title: Children's Registered Home Manager
Starting Salary: £55,582 progressing to £61,460 per annum.
Hours: 37

About The Team
Hertfordshire has developed an innovative, specialist, award-winning children's home that provides a unique integrated model of care. The service is jointly funded by Health and Social Care, demonstrating a strong commitment to partnership working and delivering holistic support for some of the most vulnerable young people.
The home provides highly specialised care for young people who are at risk of admission to Tier 4 inpatient mental health services, as well as those transitioning from Tier 4 provision back into their communities. Through a structured step-down approach, the service aims to improve outcomes, reduce the need for long-term inpatient care, and support young people to move successfully to family settings, foster care, or multi-bedded children's homes where appropriate.
The multidisciplinary team consists of an equal balance of health and social care professionals, enabling the home to provide therapeutic, trauma-informed, and clinically informed care alongside high-quality residential childcare. This integrated approach ensures that young people's emotional, mental health, social, and developmental needs are addressed in a coordinated and effective way.
The home's innovative practice, strong partnership working, and positive outcomes for young people have been recognised through external awards, which has now lead to development of a second home with a similar framework.
About The Role
This role will require exceptional partnership working across Health and Social Care, reflecting the home's unique jointly funded model. The postholders will work closely with health colleagues, social work teams, education providers, families, and other key stakeholders to ensure young people receive coordinated, holistic, and effective support.

The Home Managers will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong multi-agency relationships, ensuring that care planning, risk management, therapeutic interventions, and transition planning are delivered collaboratively and in the best interests of each young person.
They will be responsible for creating a positive, high-performing culture that promotes therapeutic practice, innovation, continuous learning, and excellence in care.
As Registered Managers, they will provide strong operational and strategic leadership, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations while continuing to develop and enhance this pioneering provision. They will champion the vision of supporting young people with complex mental health, emotional, and behavioural needs to remain closer to home, avoid unnecessary Tier 4 admissions, and achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.
Essential
About you
- Hold Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England), or an equivalent qualification
- Experience of holding and maintaining registration with Ofsted
- Extensive experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of leading Ofsted inspection of children’s home
- Full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle
- Budget Management

Driving Required
