Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll help children build trust, develop resilience, and create positive experiences that can change the course of their future.
Located just outside Taunton, Henlade offers the perfect balance of rural surroundings and access to local amenities, education, leisure opportunities, and community activities. These opportunities play an important role in helping children build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.

What You'll Do
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll play an important role in helping children recover from past experiences and build positive futures.
You Will
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support.
- Help children develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
- Support children to access education, hobbies, activities, and community opportunities.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
- Respond calmly and therapeutically to challenging situations.
- Work closely with colleagues, social workers, education professionals, and clinicians.
- Contribute to care planning, record keeping, and celebrating children's achievements.

About Our Henlade Home
Our children's home in Henlade provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can feel valued, supported, and empowered to achieve their potential.
Located just outside Taunton, the home is easily accessible from Taunton, Wellington, Bridgwater, Ilminster, Burnham-on-Sea, Chard, and surrounding Somerset areas.

What We're Looking For
Our homes support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. We're looking for resilient, compassionate individuals who can provide stability, nurture, and understanding, even during challenging moments.
You'll Need
- Experience working with children, young people, or adults with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or behaviours that challenge.
- Strong emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Confidence in managing difficult situations using therapeutic and child-centred approaches.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve positive outcomes.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to work shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- A willingness to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if not already qualified.
Most importantly, we're looking for people who can see beyond behaviour and recognise the experiences, emotions, and unmet needs behind it.
