Residential Support Worker – Children’s Homes
We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join our Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ Children’s Homes. Each role will have a primary base at either our Swindon, Bridgwater, or Wellington home, with occasional cross-home support depending on service needs.

⭐ About the Role
You will provide consistent, nurturing and trauma-informed care to young people who have experienced significant trauma, instability and disruption. Our young people are full of potential — but they need adults who remain calm, consistent and compassionate during moments of crisis.
Current presenting needs include:
- Missing episodes
- Aggressive or verbally aggressive behaviour
- Emotional dysregulation
- CSE-related risks

⭐ Key Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing, trauma-informed care
- Build positive, professional relationships
- Support routines, education, activities & independence
- Promote safeguarding and emotional regulation
- Respond to challenging behaviour using de-escalation
- Complete logs, reports and handovers to a high standard
- Work collaboratively with social workers, schools & health professionals
- Work 24–48 hour shifts including sleep-ins
⭐ What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience supporting children or young people
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Calm, resilient and confident with challenging behaviour
- Strong boundaries and communication skills
- Ability to work 24–48 hour shifts including sleep-ins
- Commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice
Desirable
- Level 3 Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
- Understanding of trauma, attachment & EBD
- Experience with restorative practice
- Multi-agency working experience
