About Us

We are Work with York Limited and are looking to recruit Children's Senior Support Workers to work on a 2:1 ratio for a child with conditions, including Autism, ADHD, non-verbal, emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role includes working in the child's family home, and out and about in the York community.

Role Details

This is a full time role, working on a 4-week rota and the hours are from 3.30pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday and from 9am to 8pm on the weekend.

The rate of pay ranges from £17.78 to £19.41, plus allowances for evening and weekend work and is dependent on experience.

Duties Include

  • Providing consistent and emotional support/reassurance to anxiety distress or behavioural challenges.
  • Assisting and administering with medication, when needed.
  • Assisting with daily activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene and maintaining a structured routine.
  • Following and contributing to individual and service care plans, risk assessments, and policies.
  • Safely managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours using NAPPI techniques where necessary.
  • Keeping accurate and timely records, respecting and maintaining customers’ privacy and confidentiality.
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, structured and stimulating environment tailored to the clients individual needs.

You Will Need

  • Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and behavioural problems.
  • An understanding of behaviours that may challenge, and a positive, proactive approach to support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customer and carers, and consult with other professionals in emergency situations.
  • To be NAPPI trained to level 3 or willing to undertake.
  • To be a car driver (clients family vehicle to be used).
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • An Adults DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
