Location: Colindale / Barnet

Role Type: Locum

Working Pattern: Hybrid – approximately 2 days in the office, with family visits as required

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join Barnet Council on a locum basis. The successful candidate will have strong experience in child protection and statutory social work.

Tasks Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families in line with statutory requirements.
  • Work within Child Protection and Child in Need frameworks.
  • Undertake assessments, visits and reviews and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to court proceedings when required.
  • Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Attend the office approximately 2 days per week and complete family visits as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified Children’s Social Worker.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Experience working within a long-term team.
  • Strong experience in Child Protection, Child in Need and Court work.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment and undertake statutory family visits.
  • Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
