Job Description
The role of Chinese Chef supports the Executive Chef Team and has a primary responsibility for overseeing and supervising production of Chinese cuisine for DO & CO. You will work hard to promote the company’s culture, mission, and values. You will act as a team leader and motivator for the whole team using interpersonal skills and be a clear communicator. You will be responsible for supervising, training, evaluating, coaching, and counselling the team ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Working closely with the Executive Chef team to ensure that consistent quality products are produced following all DO & CO standards as well designing, developing, and presenting new menu designs as per the customers’ needs in Chinese cuisine
- Day to day managing and supporting of the Kitchen team
- Instilling a culture of job pride and ownership and motivate the team to have the ability to adapt to stressful situations and deal with any emergencies or last-minute changes to production
- Planning production to the daily schedule and ensuring the exceptional DO & CO quality is maintained at its highest level with maximum efficiency in accordance with DO & CO regulations as set by the Quality Assurance team
- Establishing production of Chinese cuisine recipes that align with the set pricing structure and customer budget as well as controlling food costs
- Ensuring operations adhere to all SOP’s and ALL relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety and all legal requirements
- Constantly performing quality control checks to ensure specifications are met on raw materials and finished products
- Maintaining good working relationships with all DO & CO family members as well as our partners, vendors, and other stakeholders

Qualifications
- You will have a passion for cooking authentic Chinese cuisine
- Previous experience as a Specialist Chinese Chef
- Passion for food and working with fresh and high-quality ingredients. An excellent leader with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Well presented, professional individual with a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team success
- The ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO, identifying key impact areas and priorities and supporting change programmes and strategies to gain optimal results
- You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed
- Previous experience in a similar role, or a high-end fresh food industry related sector
- Right to work in the UK
