Summary

Shape the design and delivery of safety critical control systems while broadening your expertise across complex engineering environments. This role offers genuine scope for technical leadership, varied project work and long-term professional development.

Location and Setup

Bristol-based, hybrid working with a blend of office, home and client site activity. Other sites and locations are feasible for experienced candidates. This is a permanent, full-time role.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead C&I and functional safety activities from concept through to implementation and commissioning.
  • Support the development of control systems, safety systems and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Work across Engineering Consultancy projects within highly regulated and safety critical sectors.
  • Manage technical deliverables, budgets, schedules and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of technical capability.

Your Experience

  • Degree qualified in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems and associated engineering documentation.
  • Experience applying standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178 or DO-254.
  • Knowledge of quality management processes aligned to ISO 9001.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance, mentoring and technical direction to engineering teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong background in control and instrumentation engineering within safety critical environments.
  • Experience delivering functional safety solutions aligned to recognised industry standards.
  • Proven technical leadership experience on engineering projects.
  • Client-facing consultancy or stakeholder management experience.

Annual salary up to £75,000 depending on qualifications and experience. This comes with a number of benefits as standard, including:
