Senior Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Solution Architect

We’re looking for a senior Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Solution Architect to lead the design and governance of a large-scale customer identity platform supporting tens of millions of B2B and B2C users across a complex, multi-application enterprise environment.

This is a high-visibility, individual-contributor architecture role with the option to mentor a small team. You will define target-state identity architecture, translate enterprise standards into practical solutions, and assure designs across delivery streams while partnering with senior business and technology leaders.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for a next-generation customer identity and profile management platform (registration, authentication, consent, profile, lifecycle).
• Translate enterprise architecture guidelines and reference architectures into implementable designs; raise and justify step-outs where needed.
• Produce and maintain key architecture artefacts using standard architecture tooling (e.g., IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, ProVision or equivalent).
• Design secure, scalable CIAM capabilities including:
  • Customer registration, login, and authentication flows
  • Consent and preference management, privacy-by-design, and data-sharing patterns
  • Integration with downstream systems (CRM, marketing, customer care, APIs, data platforms).
• Lead architecture reviews and design assurance for identity-related initiatives.
• Define and socialise CIAM standards, patterns, and best practices; foster reuse across programmes.
• Engage senior stakeholders (business and IT leadership) to align identity strategy with business outcomes and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the function with vendors, partners, and external agencies as a subject-matter expert.
• Contribute to hiring, upskilling, and coaching of other architects and engineers in the identity domain.
