Company Description

Just For The Arts (JFA Music Group) is a UK-based creative organisation working across music, artist development, education, and the wider creative industries.

Through our Community Interest Company (CIC), we aim to create meaningful opportunities for artists, young people, and communities through music, education, skills development, mentoring, workshops, events, and creative programmes.

Our work brings together experienced professionals from across music and the creative industries, including artists, producers, songwriters, engineers, A&R professionals, educators, creative directors, and industry partners.

As we expand the CIC’s activities, we are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven CIC Manager to help secure new business, funded projects, and strategic partnerships that support both our social mission and long-term sustainability.

Role Description

The CIC Manager – Business Development will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for the CIC.

This is a commission-only role, making it particularly suited to someone with an established network, strong business development skills, and the ability to independently generate opportunities.

The successful candidate will proactively build relationships with organisations that could commission, fund, or partner with the CIC, including local authorities, schools and colleges, charities, housing associations, community organisations, corporate partners, brands, trusts, foundations, and other public or private sector organisations.

The role will work closely with JFA’s directors and creative team to turn our expertise, programmes, and network into commercially viable and socially impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and procure new business, contracts, and revenue-generating opportunities for the CIC.
  • Develop relationships with local authorities, schools, colleges, community organisations, charities, housing associations, corporate organisations, and other potential commissioners.
  • Identify suitable tenders, contracts, grants, funding programmes, and partnership opportunities.
  • Generate leads and manage opportunities from initial introduction through to agreement or contract.
  • Support the development of proposals, pitches, programme concepts, and partnership packages.
  • Develop new opportunities around music education, artist development, youth engagement, mentoring, employability, workshops, events, and community programmes.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients, funders, commissioners, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the CIC professionally in meetings, networking events, and conversations with external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate commercial opportunities in collaboration with the company’s directors.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, proposals, conversations, contracts, and potential revenue.
  • Help identify new areas in which the CIC can generate sustainable income while remaining aligned with its community and social objectives.
  • Support the wider management and development of CIC projects where appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Commission Structure

This position is offered on a commission-only basis, with earnings directly linked to new business and revenue successfully secured for the CIC.

Commission arrangements will be agreed in advance and clearly documented, including the applicable percentage or fee for qualifying business introduced and successfully converted.

There is significant scope for the role to grow alongside the CIC as new contracts, partnerships, and programmes are secured.

Who This Role Would Suit

This opportunity would suit an experienced business development professional, consultant, fundraiser, or partnerships manager who already has strong relationships across the public, private, charitable, or creative sectors and is confident turning those relationships into tangible opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can do more than simply identify leads. The right person will be able to open doors, develop relationships, create opportunities, and help convert those opportunities into sustainable new business for the CIC, while understanding the importance of delivering genuine social and community impact.
