Role Description
The Cinematographer is a part-time, on-site role based in Cambridge, responsible for shaping the visual language of film and video projects from pre-production through delivery. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Planning shot lists and storyboards with directors and producers
- Selecting cameras, lenses, and other equipment
- Overseeing lighting setups to achieve the desired mood and aesthetic
- Operating cameras on set
- Supervising camera and lighting crews
- Ensuring consistent visual quality across all scenes

The role involves collaborating closely with the creative and post-production teams to maintain the intended look, support efficient shoots, and contribute to innovative visual storytelling for client campaigns and internal projects.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Camera Operation and Cinematography, with the ability to translate creative concepts into compelling visual sequences.
- Experience in Video Production and Film Production, including planning, shooting, and collaborating with cross-functional creative teams.
- Proficiency in Lighting design and execution, with an understanding of how light, color, and shadow shape mood and storytelling.
- Knowledge of digital cinema cameras, lenses, and grip equipment, and familiarity with industry-standard shooting formats and workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, manage time effectively, and maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach under production deadlines.
- Strong visual storytelling skills, attention to detail, and a portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant cinematography work.
- Comfort collaborating with directors, producers, editors, and sound designers; clear communication and constructive feedback skills.
- Relevant education or training in film, media production, or a related field is beneficial; equivalent professional experience is welcome.
