Company Description

Rayburn is an ISO 9001 accredited engineering company, founded in 1959 and based in the West Midlands, specializing in machined components in plastics, metals, and insulation materials. The company provides milling, turning, pressing, and both protective and decorative surface finishing, serving a wide range of precision engineering needs. Rayburn also operates a highly geared assembly shop, enabling end-to-end manufacturing solutions for customers. Team members work with established processes and quality standards, contributing to reliable and innovative products in a dynamic engineering environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Walsall for a Circular Saw Operator / Driver / Forklift Driver / Packer / General Maintenance team member. The role involves:

  • Operating circular saws and band saws to cut plastics, metals, and insulation materials to specification, using appropriate machine settings and safety procedures.
  • Handling materials using forklifts and other equipment.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries.
  • Moving stock within the facility.
  • Packing and preparing finished components for dispatch.
  • Performing basic general maintenance and housekeeping in the workshop.
  • Assisting with manual handling and use of hand tools as required.

Qualifications

  • Strong machine operation skills, including experience with industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Proficiency in using saws such as circular saws and band saws for cutting various materials safely and accurately.
  • Ability to use hand tools for basic maintenance, material preparation, and assembly support.
  • Competent forklift operation skills, with the ability to handle materials and stock safely around the site.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, measurements, and job specifications.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team in an on-site setting.
  • Previous experience in engineering, manufacturing, or warehousing is beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications for forklift operation or machine handling are an advantage.
