Overview
@mecscomms is recruiting for an experienced contract Enterprise Wireless Engineer to support the deployment, implementation, and optimisation of secure enterprise wireless infrastructure within a large-scale network transformation programme. This role focuses on Cisco Wireless technologies, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and secure wireless authentication, delivering enterprise Wi-Fi solutions across complex, multi-site environments.
The successful candidate will possess strong enterprise wireless engineering experience, combined with expertise in Cisco ISE, authentication technologies, network security, and packet-level troubleshooting.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wireless Engineer to join a major enterprise infrastructure programme delivering secure, highly available wireless networking services.
Purpose
Deliver secure enterprise Cisco wireless infrastructure. Provide professional engineering services supporting the deployment, configuration, optimisation, and operational support of enterprise wireless infrastructure, ensuring secure authentication, high availability, and excellent user experience across corporate and guest wireless environments.

Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and optimise Cisco Wireless infrastructure
- Implement and support Cisco ISE authentication services
- Configure Catalyst 9800, 5520, and 5508 Wireless LAN Controllers
- Support secure corporate and guest wireless environments
- Integrate wireless infrastructure with enterprise networking and security platforms
- Perform packet-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Support Juniper Mist, Cisco DNA Center, and Cisco Prime management platforms
- Develop automation scripts and operational tooling using Python and Ansible
- Manage SSL certificates and secure authentication services
- Produce technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures
- Ensure delivery against operational, security, and quality standards

Candidate Profile
Candidates should possess strong hands-on experience delivering enterprise wireless networking solutions within large corporate environments. You will combine deep technical expertise across Cisco Wireless technologies with strong troubleshooting capability, network security knowledge, and experience implementing secure authentication solutions using Cisco ISE.
