Civil 3D Technician
About the role
Waterman Aspen is currently looking for an experienced Civil 3D Technician to join a growing multidisciplinary team working on exciting infrastructure projects within the aviation sector.
We are looking for a technician with strong, hands-on Civil 3D modelling experience who can hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the delivery of high-quality technical designs and drawings.
While aviation experience would be advantageous, it is not essential. Candidates from a highways or wider civil engineering background will be considered, provided they have strong and demonstrable Civil 3D capability.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed civil engineering models using Civil 3D.
- Produce high-quality technical drawings and design information.
- Work closely with engineers and other members of the multidisciplinary project team.
- Ensure models and drawings are accurate, coordinated and delivered to the required standards.
- Support the development and delivery of civil engineering designs across a range of infrastructure projects.
- Work effectively within a collaborative project environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
