Civil & Commercial Litigation Solicitor

Location: Staffordshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
PQE: 1-5 PQE

A well-established law firm in Staffordshire is looking to recruit a Civil & Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its established Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor at 1-5 PQE to develop their career within a supportive and client-focused environment, handling a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will be responsible for managing an agreed caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, providing a high-quality and commercially focused service to clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters from inception through to resolution.
  • Providing clear and commercially focused advice to clients.
  • Conducting legal research and keeping up to date with relevant legislation, case law, and court procedures.
  • Drafting correspondence, pleadings, applications, and other legal documentation.
  • Managing cases efficiently, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and developing relationships with prospective clients and introducers.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm and identifying opportunities to cross-sell appropriate legal services.
  • Achieving agreed fee-earning targets and ensuring matters are progressed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintaining high professional and client service standards.

About You

The firm is looking for a qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with 1-5 PQE and experience within civil and/or commercial litigation. You will ideally have:

  • Experience managing your own caseload of litigation matters.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and the ability to understand clients' wider business needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
  • Experience using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
