About the Role
The Parking Services team at Sheffield City Council enforces parking regulations throughout Sheffield. These regulations include off-street car parks, residents parking schemes, on-street pay & display, waiting, and loading restrictions. We are a growing service and have achieved a great deal, but we need talented, positive, and dedicated people to ensure we continue to make a difference for Sheffield.

Parking services is a team that has been growing each year, and we can now expand our days and our Evening team to meet the service requirements.
We have the opportunity to recruit two additional Civil Enforcement Officers.
- One to our Days team
- One to our Evenings team
Shift Patterns:
- Days team: 7:15 – 15:09 and 10:45 – 18:39
- Evenings team: 15:00 – 23:00
Both teams cover weekend working.
Responsibilities
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the operational success of our enforcement services, helping us maintain safer streets, reduce congestion, and support the efficient use of public space.
- Assist with road safety and environmental matters
Requirements
You will be a good listener, communicator, able to assimilate information, and remain impartial.
- Experience of dealing with confrontational situations and providing high-level public service with a self-driven nature.
- Fit, as the work requires patrolling outside on foot in all weather conditions.
- Flexible approach to work and able to cover shift patterns which are currently on a fixed rota pattern and work 5 days out of 7, including weekends.
- Weekend working attracts a pay enhancement on top of the starting salary.
- Hold a full driving license.
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and technologies used in enforcement operations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.

Flexible Working
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part-time, or as a job share.
Salary
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
