Civil Engineer - Severn Trent Design Function

Location

Derby or Birmingham, although we will consider applicants located further afield. Avove offers flexible hybrid working, combining office and remote working.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, Avove is looking for a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of projects across our Severn Trent Water framework. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil design solutions for water and wastewater projects across the Severn Trent Water framework.
  • Support projects through the full lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Produce and review technical drawings, calculations, reports, and site survey information.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop efficient, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Embed health, safety, and CDM principles into all aspects of design.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with professional accreditation working towards preferred.
  • Experience in water and/or wastewater non-infrastructure design is desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD, with strong technical reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and workload management skills.
  • Able to deliver high-quality work to programme deadlines within a collaborative team environment.
