About the Role

In this role you will work on projects delivering innovative and sustainable solutions on a wide variety of projects spanning various sectors including, education, residential, commercial, healthcare, defence, aviation and other general infrastructure from planning stage through to end of construction with opportunities to work on a mixture of Multi D and standalone civils only projects - giving you a broad experience, working with some prestigious clients. This role will be based in our London office located in Southwark.

Design Work

Design work can include sustainable drainage systems, highways design, pavements, earthworks engineering, cut and fill assessments, underground services, flood alleviation, pumping stations and sewerage systems, external works and highway and drainage section agreements (S278, S38 & S104).

What You Need to Do to Be Effective in This Role

  • You will be producing civil engineering design drawings and specification which will be used for planning submissions, pricing and built by contractors.
  • Once projects are in the construction phase, you will be expected to attend site to answer queries from contractors and to view works to see that they are generally being built in accordance with your design drawings.
  • You will have regular interface with the wider design team and client (where appropriate) - being the face of Ridge.
  • Be an integral part of the civils team in London helping us to deliver exciting projects, where you will be expected to support our drive for continuous improvement.

The Skills and Experience You Need to Have for This Role

  • Proven experience in a similar role with good working experience of S104, S106 and S185 (water industry act) agreements, S278 and S38 (Highways Act) agreements and Building Regulations Part H and M which will be discussed at interview.
  • Graduated with a relevant degree and be professionally qualified as a Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or aspiration to becoming chartered.
  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD and in particular Civil 3D.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of Infodrainage / Microdrainage.
  • A solid understanding of drainage design including SuDS, highways and cut and fill analysis.
