Civil Engineer
Gloucester
We’re working with a highly respected, multi-award-winning housebuilder to recruit a Civil Engineer to join their dedicated Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer with at least 6 months’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking residential development business. With an enviable reputation for designing and building high-quality new homes across the West Country and Cotswolds, the company is committed to creating sustainable developments and has completed more than 350 zero-carbon homes since 2022.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging developments while gaining valuable experience across the full lifecycle of a site.
The Role
Reporting to the Associate Engineering Director, you’ll work closely with the wider Engineering team to develop practical, innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions from site acquisition through to construction and completion.

You’ll be involved in producing detailed engineering drawings and designs to support:
- Planning applications
- Water company and highway authority submissions
- Tender packages
- Construction
- Site completion
Your projects will cover a broad range of civil engineering disciplines, including:
- Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
- New and existing road infrastructure
- House foundations
- Remediation schemes
You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the business, responding to engineering queries during construction and helping to identify and implement effective solutions.
The role will include regular site visits, where you’ll inspect works, engage with construction teams and develop your understanding of build processes and relevant health and safety requirements.

About You
We’re looking for someone with a methodical and practical approach, strong attention to detail and the enthusiasm to develop their technical knowledge.
Ideal experience includes:
- Experience working for a housebuilder or engineering consultancy
- Experience within a construction or property development environment
- Experience with civil engineering design software such as InfoDrainage, Site 3D or similar
- Understanding of residential infrastructure, drainage or highways design
