This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Northern England. The Civil Engineer will support the delivery of energy infrastructure projects, including substations, cable routes, renewable energy installations, and associated civil works. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs, participating in project planning, overseeing site engineering activities, and ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and QA procedures. The role involves coordinating with project managers, construction teams, and external stakeholders, conducting site inspections, resolving technical issues, and managing stormwater and drainage solutions. The Civil Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement across design, construction support, and risk management within operational environments.
Qualifications
- Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering skills relevant to energy infrastructure projects
- Experience working as a Civil Engineer, preferably within the power, utilities, or renewable energy sectors
- Planning skills for project scheduling, resource coordination, and delivery in operational environments
- Stormwater Management skills, including drainage design and compliance with UK standards
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Knowledge of UK construction regulations, CDM, and industry best practices for safety and quality
- Proficiency in relevant design and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and site supervision skills, with attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
