(Senior Engineer – Roads/Highways, Dry Utilities, Wet Utilities)

Role Summary

The Civil Infrastructure Engineer will deliver civil engineering design, assessment, and substantiation for roads, highways, utility networks, drainage systems, and associated infrastructure within multidisciplinary project environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Civil engineering design, analysis, modelling, and calculations for roads, pavements, utility networks, and drainage systems.
  • Preparation and review of drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
  • Assessment of routing, corridors, pipelines, drainage systems, hydraulic performance, and construction-stage requirements.
  • Development of design substantiation and technical justifications to meet regulatory and governance expectations.
  • Collaboration with structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participation in design reviews, technical assurance, and resolution of engineering queries.
  • Support for continuous improvement, digital engineering adoption, and mentoring of junior engineers.

Experience Areas (Role Variants)

Roads & Highways

  • Design and assessment of roads, pavements, access routes, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Experience with highway design tools and civil modelling software.

Dry Utilities

  • Design of power, communications, control networks, duct banks, cable corridors, and utility routing.
  • Knowledge of utility coordination, corridor planning, and construction considerations.

Wet Utilities

  • Design of water supply, foul water, surface water drainage, sewage networks, and pumping systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling, drainage strategies, and flood risk management.

Skills Required

  • Civil Design — roads, utilities, drainage, pavements, and associated infrastructure.
  • Technical Documentation — drawings, specifications, reports, and substantiation.
  • Hydraulic Modelling — drainage, flow analysis, pumping systems (wet utilities).
  • Utility Coordination — routing, duct banks, cable corridors, and corridor planning (dry utilities).
  • Highway Engineering — road geometry, pavement design, access routes (roads/highways).
  • Digital Engineering Tools — civil modelling, utility design, hydraulic tools.
  • Engineering Codes — civil, utility, and drainage standards; familiarity with American codes desirable.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination — working with structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and environmental teams.
  • Technical Assurance — design reviews, compliance checks, and engineering justification.
  • Problem Solving — resolving design issues and construction-stage queries.
  • Stakeholder Engagement — clear communication with reviewers and project teams.
  • Mentoring — supporting junior engineers and early-career staff.
