Civil Engineer

Location: Gateshead

Salary: GBP38,000 - GBP55,000

Are you a Civil Engineer looking to develop your career within the water sector? This Gateshead role offers exposure to water and wastewater infrastructure projects, multidisciplinary design and the opportunity to develop your career within a smaller, growing consultancy.

The Opportunity

A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Civil Engineer to support the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects. As a Civil Engineer, you will work alongside other engineering disciplines, developing practical civil infrastructure solutions while building your technical and project experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support civil design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Develop designs and technical information using CAD and relevant engineering software
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
  • Apply water engineering principles and hydraulic considerations to design
  • Ensure work complies with BMS, CDM and relevant UK requirements
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and project stakeholders
  • Contribute to safe, practical and technically robust design solutions

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Civil engineering design experience, ideally within water or wastewater
  • CAD and relevant engineering software experience
  • Understanding of water infrastructure and hydraulic principles
  • Knowledge of CDM and UK health and safety requirements
  • Chartered status or a desire to work towards ICE, CIWEM or IoW Chartership
