Civil Engineering CAD Technician

Elland, West Yorkshire

Hybrid Working (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

Marshalls Civils & Drainage, part of our building products division, partners with customers to design, engineer and manufacture precast & reinforced concrete solutions that support critical infrastructure and civil engineering projects UK wide. Role Overview

As part of our commitment to the evolution of both our products and position as a leading supplier of innovative solutions to the UK water and drainage infrastructure industry, we have a brand-new opportunity for a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join our Design & Engineering team.

Your Mission

Your main responsibilities will be to provide CAD design and technical support for the Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges, primarily focusing on our core Water Management products and solutions, with an exposure to linear drainage, sealed manholes and specialist products designed and manufactured to meet our customers' requirements. You will produce CAD drawings, calculations, bills of materials and provide engineering support to a high standard, ensuring compliance with both Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.

Mission-Critical Skills

This role would be suited to someone who has:

  • Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a civil engineering related subject
  • Experience of working in a design and technical environment (consultancy, D&B contractor, or a building products design & manufacture business)
  • Ability to work within industry design standards and codes
  • Experienced in material take-offs and drawing / specification reviews
  • Proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD and / or Solidworks to produce digital models
  • Previous experience in the detailing of pre-cast concrete products and structures would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change
  • Proven ability to motivate yourself to meet project deadlines
